USCIS Field Office Alert Regarding Credit Card Payments

USCIS Field Office Alert Regarding Credit Card Payments

Our office received the following alert regarding the payment of US Citizenship & Immigration Services filing fees which could possibly result in a delay in processing petitions:

Alert for USCIS International Customers:  This is an alert for USCIS customers who reside overseas and may be filing a petition with a USCIS Field Office outside the United States.  The State Department announced today that due to a systems problem, U.S. Embassies and Consulates around the world are unable to accept credit card payments for services at this time.  As the Department of State accepts and processes USCIS petition fees for overseas USCIS Field Offices, we regret that payment by credit card will not be available until State Department resumes that service.  It is expected that it could take up to several days for the issues to be resolved.  This alert will be updated when normal service resumes.

In the meantime, USCIS encourages customers to pay petition fees according to the instructions provided locally at the Embassy or Consulate where you are seeking services.  Click here to find the website for the Embassy or Consulate where you reside.  Until normal service resumes, any petition received by mail at a USCIS Field Office overseas with a credit card payment will be held and processed when the system operational.

We regret any inconvenience caused and are working closely with Department of State to determine when normal service will resume.”
